Lifespan Faith
Development

Greetings from our Program Minister
Since my first career as a teacher,
I have always had faith in education. So has Unitarian
Universalism. We trust people to grow their own belief systems,
to make their own ethical decisions, and to discover their own
sources of spiritual nurture.
But we don’t make them do it alone. Our Lifespan Religious
Education programs provide access to a wealth of stories,
metaphor, scripture, and dialogue to help people of all ages
with their beliefs, ethics, and spirituality. A quick look
through this document gives you an idea of the resources we
offer.
Children need not only instruction; but more, they need to have
their own minds stimulated so they can learn how to explore the
spiritual and physical worlds, formulate questions, and draw
their own conclusions. Adolescents need to cross the bridge
towards adulthood, but never alone, rather, with mature adult
guidance and support. Young adults need to find the gifts they
offer to the world, and have them warmly received. And, adults
never stop growing, so they need continuing opportunities to
learn and even to change – their minds, their hearts, maybe even
their lives. We all need to know we are cared for by one
another.
Take a look at the variety of classes and learning
opportunities. Come, connect, bring your children. Join us in
the task of transforming lives to transform the world.
See you in church,
Jonalu Johnstone
