Sustainable Living Organization

Sustainable Living is Not About Returning to Primitive Living; it’s About Developing Our Community in a Way That Makes Ecological and Economic Sense

Mission: To educate, facilitate and support the congregation in the seventh principle of the UUA: "respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part."

Sustainable Living Discussion:
Every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Eddy Rm.

Welcome to the Sustainable Living Organization of the First Unitarian Church of Oklahoma City. We are church members and friends of the church who believe that we should live our lives with as little negative impact on the earth as possible. It sounds simple, but it's not. Every human action has an impact on the earth and our fellow inhabitants. There is no escaping an impact. The secret is to determine what is appropriate and what is not.

That is where the Sustainable Living Organization begins. We meet, we study, we discuss, and we create actions. Always we look for ways to leave the earth, its creatures, and the environment a little better than we found it. We don't always succeed, but we try. We discuss and learn about topics such as ecology, living simply, sustainable energy, nuclear energy, recycling, global warming, and sustainable technology.
